Prepare the Way

December 1, 2011

Dear Canaan EM’ers!

Many thanks to all who joined our special Christian New Year service last Sunday! I was delighted to see so many of us wear blue to celebrate Advent Season. I also hope you enjoyed decorating our Christmas tree! Throughout Advent Season, worshipers will be welcome to hang an ornament on our tree. So if you missed out last Sunday, feel free to bring ornaments the next few weeks.

As you prepare for this Sunday’s worship service, please reflect on what you do to prepare yourself for the coming of Jesus, the Christ. Do you think about areas in your life that could better conform to Christ’s reign? How do you let others know that King Jesus is coming?

Also, EM Adults will hold a Town Hall meeting during H2O this Sunday (11:30 AM – 12:30 PM). This meeting will provide an opportunity for us to talk about our church’s current situation and future. If you have a chance, think about these questions ahead of time:

  1. When I tell my family and friends why I am part of Canaan, this is what I say….
  2. This past year I most appreciate Canaan English Ministry for (list three items)…
  3. I would have done the following differently (share how you would have done things differently)…
  4. Next year, I would like to see the following happen in English Ministry…

Join me this Sunday as we continue our preparation for Christmas!
